Preliminary Walk Estimates - Mileage & Arrival Times


Note: for 2013 we start at 6:00 a.m. in Metropark.

Estimated time in the Jersey City sections have changed due Hurricane Sandy damage to the Liberty State Park section which requires re-routing. We have eliminated the entire loop through the park which is approximately 7 miles. That section has limited access to only 50% of the promenade area along the waterfront and the pedestrian bridge on Jersey Avenue was destroyed. It is possible to walk the primary loop road but the park entrance is in another location and not easily accessible by foot. Therefore, we are recommending to limit the walk this year to 4 2 miles which is essentially the same route minus the Liberty State Park loop.
